Mirez Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Anyone played with this? I'm still learning it but so far I'm pleased to say I have a fully working "Distance to empty" display and have disabled the service reminder. I'm still working on the Galaxy cluster at the moment, but I've corrected the mileage and got everything else working bar the fuel gauge being overly sensitive on the alhambra one so once I've corrected that I'll fit it and be even happier lol (more gauges yay lol) I'm also tempted to have a play with some of the other stuff I've seen: There seems to be provision for auto wipers and auto headlights - which was an easyish retrofit to the mondeo. Global opening/closing from the remote key should also be possibleAnti-hijack and two stage unlocking - two features I've been after for a while! I'm also talking with one of my german friends who actually works for VDO and its possible to get full diagnostic info like oil temp, fuel temp, vac, cam position etc etc to display in the cluster. This is essentially a service mode however with some recoding it should be possible to select some or all of those functions to appear in the trip computer menu. I've just got another alhambra cluster so I'm planning to have a play when that turns up without fear of screwing it all up :) Quote

Does your original vagcom lead work or do you need a different one ? Quote

gregers Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 once youve sussed out all of that on yours fella,MINE NEXT YEAH :) i have seen something about this before, but from what i remember it was to do with dos and computer programming?i know theres a hell of a lot that is not set up. i do like the function my m8s got on his focus with the global opening/closing via remote.and im surprised the fuel left read out was never standard on the ghias? No problem, once its all figured out I'll set up a charge list for you! (Only joking mate - winegums and a cup of tea :) ) There is some DOS, lots of HEX and a little binary - Fortunately my degree's in computer science so its not baffling me just yet! From what I can gather it was all down to cost that the options wern't enabled by default. I should hopefully be talking to one of the original VDO programmers that coded the Mk2 cluster next week and know a lot more about what it can do, its herritage, why its setup the way it is and what changes can, can't and shouldn't be done! Jayton Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Cool, let us know how you get on and if you can make detailed notes for us VAG-XXX noobs :) Quote
MrEnigma Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Did you get anywhere with this Mirez. I am interested in doing more than the Auto windows with keyfob too.. would be great to try out the other stuff too. Thanks Quote
Mirez Posted August 8, 2010 Author Report Posted August 8, 2010 Yup, pretty much everything I said could be done I've now done. I'm midway though auto headlights and wipers at the moment. Its quite envolved though, but I've been lucky enough to get hold of the EEPROM maps for most of the controllers. Quote
